Stevie Wonder has announced a 50th-anniversary tour built around his 1976 double album “Songs in the Key of Life,” with the 25-time Grammy winner set to perform the record in full at arenas across North America and Europe. The tour was announced this week and will mark one of Wonder’s most extensive live outings in years.

The European leg opens October 13 at Utilita Arena Birmingham before stops in Paris, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Hannover, Cologne, Amsterdam and Dublin, followed by UK dates in London, Manchester and Glasgow. The tour then crosses to the United States, opening November 19 at Madison Square Garden in New York before stops in Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Detroit, and closing December 19 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

“Songs in the Key of Life” produced some of Wonder’s most enduring singles, including “Sir Duke,” “Isn’t She Lovely” and “I Wish,” and earned him the third of his three Grammy Awards for Album of the Year. The tour is promoted by Live Nation and produced by Wonder Productions.

Presale tickets for the European dates began September 9, while most North American tickets go on sale September 10 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets for the Detroit show will be released separately on September 15.

The announcement comes as Wonder, now in his mid-70s, continues to tour selectively while maintaining a catalog that remains a fixture on radio and streaming platforms five decades after its release. Fans and music critics have described the album as one of the defining works of 1970s soul and R&B, and its 50th anniversary has already prompted renewed attention to the record ahead of the tour’s launch.
