A US strike hit a home hosting a wedding celebration in Kuhestak, in Iran’s Sirik county, in Hormozgan Province, according to Iranian officials, as the exchange of strikes between the US and Iran continued this week.

Iran’s Red Crescent said four people, including a child, were killed and more than 50 wounded. Ahmad Nafisi, deputy governor of Hormozgan Province, gave a lower figure to Iranian state television, saying two people were killed with others wounded.
What’s Unclear
It was not immediately clear what target the strike was aimed at; officials said shrapnel from the attack struck the residential home where the wedding was taking place. Sirik county lies along the Strait of Hormuz.

The US has said its strikes this week were targeting Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps in response to “recent attempted attacks against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members deployed to the region,” following a US strike on Larak Island and Iranian missile and drone retaliation against US bases in Jordan.
