Singer d4vd, legally David Burke, was arraigned Monday on murder and other charges in the killing of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The Charges
Burke pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, sexual abuse of a child, and unlawful mutilation of human remains, along with special allegations of murder of a witness, murder for financial gain, and murder by lying in wait.
What Prosecutors Allege
Prosecutors allege Burke met Rivas Hernandez when she was 11, began sexually abusing her when she was 13, and stabbed her to death when she confronted him on April 23, 2025, to prevent her from going public about their relationship and damaging his music career.
Where the Case Stands
A judge ruled in July that there was enough evidence for Burke to stand trial. He has been held without bail since his arrest.
