Nicki Minaj isn’t backing down. A day after Republicans lost the House and the Senate, the rapper posted a numbered list on X defending President Trump. “Trump is STILL your PRESIDENT,” it began. Item 9: “I don’t vote, I VETO.” Item 10: “Stay tuned & STAY MAD.” A follow-up post added two more points, including “Elon is STILL a trillionaire and you are STILL posting on his app,” PinkNews reported.
The posts came after Minaj spent the final stretch of the campaign on Trump’s side. At an Oct. 25 rally in Port Huron, Michigan, she told him, “If you run again, I will support you again,” Newsweek reported.

What did Nicki Minaj post after the midterms?
- The defiance: “Trump is STILL your PRESIDENT” and “The QUEEN is STILL your OBSESSION.”
- The congratulations: she congratulated “all winners,” especially Rep. Anna Paulina Luna and Florida Gov.-elect Byron Donalds.
- The swipe: “Blowing a billion on a losing campaign full of celebrities is STILL hurting them,” aimed at Democrats.
- The kicker: “Stay tuned & STAY MAD.”
Replies piled on. “You ruined your career for nothing,” one user wrote, according to PinkNews. Another tacked on a 16th point: “Y’all still lost the midterms,” IBTimes reported. On the other side, White House communications director Steven Cheung joked that she could be the next press secretary.
Did the candidates Nicki Minaj backed win?
Mostly not. At the Port Huron rally, she and Trump urged support for Michigan Senate candidate Mike Rogers and governor candidate John James. Rogers lost to Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, and IBTimes reported that James lost to Democrat Jocelyn Benson. By IBTimes’ count, three of the four candidates she publicly backed lost, with Donalds the lone win.
Her Election Day appearance also drew attention. She showed up at a polling site at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, New Hampshire, greeting voters in line, EURweb reported. Minaj, who moved to the U.S. from Trinidad and Tobago as a child, said in a 2024 livestream that she isn’t a U.S. citizen, so she can’t vote in federal elections. And her Election Day post, an AI-generated image of Chucky wearing a “Vote Red” badge, got a reply from the character’s creator, Don Mancini: “Too bad, Nicki! No AI, by the way! #bluewave.”
The BeezLoop Take
Minaj has every right to back Trump, and the backlash from former fans is mostly the internet doing what it does. The more telling part is what the list leaves out: nothing about prices, nothing about the war, nothing about why voters went the other way.
Celebrity endorsements didn’t decide this election on either side. Voters were thinking about their bills. A list built for applause from the people who already agree with you is a fan post, not a political argument.
The open question: will Minaj stay this involved through 2028, and will it cost her more than it helps the candidates she backs?
