Rumer Willis has filed an emergency court request seeking to keep visits between her ex, Derek Richard Thomas, and their 3-year-old daughter, Louetta, supervised, alleging he has repeatedly violated the terms of their custody agreement.

How We Got Here

Willis and Thomas split in 2024 after roughly two years together. Following months of contentious legal filings, Willis was awarded primary physical custody of Louetta earlier this year, with the couple sharing joint legal custody. Thomas’s visits were set to begin under nanny supervision before transitioning to unmonitored overnight visits in August.

The New Filing

Willis is now asking a judge to prevent that transition to unsupervised visits, claiming Thomas has refused to accept a court-approved replacement nanny on multiple occasions and, in one instance, would not allow a court-ordered supervisor into his home.

Thomas’s Response

Thomas has filed his own objection, claiming Willis “has done everything in her power to interfere, block and frustrate” his relationship with their daughter, and alleging she took Louetta to Nashville despite a court order barring either parent from taking the child out of California without the other’s written agreement.
