Audi unveiled the Nuvolari on June 4, its first hybrid supercar and the most powerful production car the brand has ever built, limited to just 499 units.
The Numbers
The Nuvolari produces 1,001 horsepower from a Lamborghini-built twin-turbo V8 paired with three electric motors, two on the front axle and one between the engine and transmission. Audi says it does 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds and tops out at 217 mph.
Formula 1-Inspired Tech
The car uses a “quattro predictive ride” system that reads sensor data to anticipate changes in grip and adjust torque distribution and braking before the driver feels a difference, along with active aerodynamics including a deployable rear wing.
Why It’s Called Nuvolari
The car is named for Tazio Nuvolari, the Italian racing driver who won major races in the late 1930s for Auto Union, one of the four companies whose merger eventually formed Audi.
Price and Availability
The Nuvolari starts at 600,000 euros in Germany, expected to run around $700,000 before options in the US. Deliveries begin in the first half of 2027. Development took just 14 months, from a first sketch in March 2025 to a finished prototype revealed at Monterey Car Week.
