A 19-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting inside a Five Guys restaurant in Oxnard, California, Friday night, according to police, who said no suspect has been identified and no motive has been determined.

What Happened

Oxnard police and paramedics responded around 8:26 p.m. Friday to the Five Guys in the 2700 block of Portico Way after reports of a shooting. Officers found the victim, a Santa Paula resident, had been shot once; he was taken to a hospital in critical condition. No other victims were found at the scene.

The Investigation

The Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is handling the case and has not released information about a suspect or a motive. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the department directly.
