Zach Wilson started at quarterback for the first half with Spencer Rattler taking over in the second, while running back Kendre Miller made his preseason debut, leading the Saints’ rushing attack with 22 yards on six carries and adding a 29-yard kickoff return.

A 34-0 shutout with three turnovers and a dozen penalties is a difficult performance to find much positive in, and the team’s own recap acknowledged as much. Miller’s touches were one of the few individually productive elements in an otherwise lopsided loss, giving the coaching staff at least one data point on the backfield rotation heading into final roster decisions.
