YouTuber Jack Doherty was arrested Friday morning in Fort Lauderdale on a domestic violence battery charge, according to police, marking his second run-in with Florida law enforcement in less than a year.

Doherty, 22, whose full name is Jack Cashin Doherty, built a following of millions on YouTube with videos of trick shots, stunts and increasingly elaborate pranks before branching into livestreamed public disruptions that have drawn both viral attention and legal trouble. He was booked into the Broward County Main Jail on a charge filed under Florida statute 784.03-1a1, which covers battery in a domestic violence context and is classified as a misdemeanor.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in the Riverside Park neighborhood, near Southwest Fifth Court, around 11:56 a.m. Friday. Radio host Andy Slater, who first reported the arrest, said Doherty and a woman got into a physical altercation inside the home. Police said the woman was not injured.

Sources close to Doherty told TMZ that his actions during the encounter were in self-defense. No formal statement from Doherty or his representatives had been made public as of Friday, and the case has not yet been resolved in court.

This is not Doherty’s first arrest in Florida this year. In November 2025, Miami Beach police arrested him outside a smoke shop after officers said they found him carrying amphetamine and under 20 grams of marijuana; he also faced a resisting arrest charge in that incident. He posted a $3,500 bond and later joked about the arrest in a video wearing a T-shirt printed with his TMZ mugshot. That case was handled through a deferred prosecution program.

Friday’s arrest adds to a pattern of legal scrutiny that has followed Doherty as his online career has grown more provocative. He rose to prominence through flip and trick-shot content on YouTube before shifting toward stunts and public pranks that have occasionally drawn police attention in the past, though this year’s back-to-back arrests mark his most serious legal exposure to date.

As with any pending criminal case, the domestic violence battery charge represents an accusation rather than a finding of guilt, and Doherty is entitled to contest it in court.
