Zelensky says Ukraine has ‘no interceptors’ as ballistic missiles hit Kyiv

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine had “no interceptors” as ballistic missiles struck Kyiv, underscoring the pressure on the country’s air-defense systems. The attack was attributed to Russia and was reported alongside drone strikes in Ukraine.

Reports said at least nine people were killed in the strikes on the capital, with some coverage putting the toll at 10. The attacks were described as part of a broader Russian assault that Ukrainian officials said was overwhelming available air defenses.

The strikes came amid continued military activity involving both countries. Other reports said Ukraine had sunk a Russian container ship, while Zelensky was also seeking a role for Starlink in attacks, adding to wider debate over the use of communications technology in the war.
