Natalie Portman has welcomed her third child, a baby born last month in Paris with her partner Tanguy Destable. It’s her first child with Destable and her third overall, joining 15-year-old son Aleph and 9-year-old daughter Amalia, whom she shares with her ex-husband, choreographer and director Benjamin Millepied.

Portman announced she was pregnant back in April. The baby’s name and gender haven’t been made public, and given how private she’s kept the rest of her personal life since her divorce, that’s likely to stay that way for a while.

A quiet new chapter

Portman and Millepied were married for over a decade before their split, which followed reports in 2023 that he had been involved with someone else. She’s largely kept her romantic life out of the press since then, and her relationship with Destable has stayed similarly low-key, with the couple avoiding red carpets together and rarely commenting on it publicly.

The 45-year-old actress has continued working steadily through the pregnancy and after, with awards-season buzz around several of her recent film projects. Motherhood has been a consistent thread in how she’s talked about her career, from adjusting shooting schedules around her kids to being candid in interviews about the balancing act.

There’s no indication Portman plans to change that approach with baby number three. Fans will likely learn more whenever she’s ready to share it, and not a moment before.
