Karoline Leavitt will step down as White House press secretary at the end of August, President Trump announced, citing her desire to spend more time with her two young children. Leavitt returned from maternity leave less than a month earlier after welcoming her second child in May.
Trump said Leavitt would remain a top outside advisor and an influential Republican voice ahead of the midterms. Leavitt became the youngest White House press secretary in history when she was appointed. No successor has been named yet.
