President Trump announced Wednesday that Karoline Leavitt will resign as White House press secretary at the end of August, saying she wants more time with her two young children. Leavitt, who returned from maternity leave less than a month earlier, has served as the youngest press secretary in White House history.
Trump said Leavitt would continue as one of his top outside advisors and remain an influential voice in the Republican Party heading into the midterms. A replacement has not yet been announced.
