A shooting at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, left three people dead, according to reports. The victims included a restaurant employee, the company’s owner said. Authorities have described the incident as a fatal attack at the fast-food location, while other reports focused on people who sheltered nearby as the violence unfolded.
Police said the suspected gunman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Reports identified the suspect as Chad Williams, though few additional details about him or a possible motive were immediately available.
Accounts of the incident also described an armed bystander distracting the gunman. The role of that person, and the sequence of events inside the restaurant, remained part of the ongoing investigation.
Siblings who were in the restaurant’s parking lot described taking shelter during the shooting. Police were expected to continue examining the circumstances of the attack, including how it began and the actions of those at the scene.
