Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent were aboard the decoy Air Force One during last month’s secret plane switch in Turkey, while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth flew with President Trump on the separate, undisclosed aircraft, according to a CBS News report.
Trump was moved between planes via an airport catering truck along with deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino, aide Natalie Harp and Oval Office Operations Director Walt Nauta. Rubio and Bessent, who as cabinet officials are part of the presidential line of succession, were aware of the switch. Journalists aboard the decoy plane believed Trump was on board with them.
