A newly released affidavit points to a possible motive in the killing of two men in DeLand, Florida, with investigators suggesting a drug deal or attempted robbery may have led to the deadly shooting, police said.
A 17-year-old suspect accused in the double homicide has been ordered to remain in custody as the case proceeds. Investigators also arrested the teen’s father in connection with the case.
Authorities said one of the victims was a Citadel cadet, and noted the teen suspect had a lengthy prior record that had resulted in few consequences before the killings.
