Several members of President Trump’s cabinet remained aboard the decoy Air Force One during last month’s secret departure from Turkey, unaware in real time that Trump had been moved to a separate aircraft via an airport catering truck amid a credible Iranian threat.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent were among those who stayed on the publicly identified plane, while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth accompanied Trump on the undisclosed flight. More than 100 staff and journalists were also aboard the decoy aircraft without being told of the specific threat.
