Bronny James, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, is in stable condition after suffering a cardiac arrest during a practice with the University of Southern California men’s basketball team on Monday.

James, 18, collapsed on the court and was taken to the hospital, where he was placed in the intensive care unit. He was later released from the ICU and is now recovering in a regular room.
A family spokesperson said that James is “doing well” and that he is “expected to make a full recovery.”

LeBron and Savannah James released a statement on social media thanking the USC medical staff for their “incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”
“We are grateful for the outpouring of support from our family, friends, and fans,” the statement said. “We ask for continued privacy as we focus on Bronny’s health and recovery.”
Cardiac arrest is a sudden loss of heart function that can be fatal. It is often caused by a heart attack, but it can also be caused by other factors, such as a congenital heart defect.

The exact cause of James’ cardiac arrest is not yet known. However, his father, LeBron James, has a history of heart problems. In 2018, LeBron James underwent surgery to repair an irregular heartbeat.
James’ cardiac arrest is a reminder of the importance of heart health. If you have any concerns about your heart health, talk to your doctor.
Update:
Bronny James was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday and is continuing to recover at home. He is expected to make a full recovery.
