Wisconsin’s Democratic gubernatorial primary between Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley and democratic socialist Francesca Hong came down to the wire, with Crowley ultimately winning by roughly 3,000 votes, or about 0.4 percentage points, according to the Associated Press.
Crowley, who briefly exited the race before re-entering with outgoing Gov. Tony Evers’ backing, is seen by party leaders as the stronger general-election candidate in a swing state. He will face Republican Rep. Tom Tiffany in November. Hong had faced scrutiny over past social media posts during the campaign’s final stretch.
