Sen. Amy Klobuchar won Minnesota’s Democratic primary for governor, positioning her as a strong contender to hold the seat for Democrats in November. Klobuchar entered the race in late January after Gov. Tim Walz reversed course and dropped plans to seek a third term amid scrutiny over his administration’s handling of fraud targeting state social service programs.
If elected, Klobuchar would be Minnesota’s first female governor. She will face Republican House Speaker Lisa Demuth in the general election.
