Japan ordered evacuations in areas threatened by Typhoon Dolphin as the storm approached, prompting authorities to warn residents about potentially dangerous conditions. The typhoon has also affected travel, with about 500 flights canceled in Japan.
Reports said Dolphin had reached Japan’s Okinawa region and was moving toward China. The storm’s progress has raised concerns across the region, with authorities preparing for possible disruption from strong winds, heavy rain and coastal hazards.
In China, ports were closed ahead of the typhoon’s expected arrival, while eastern areas prepared for its effects. Schools and tourist activities were also suspended in some locations as officials took precautions and urged residents and visitors to follow safety instructions.
